Friday 21st August
On Monday after a busy weekend in Chesterfield I decided to tackle the text on the “A” boards I had painted last week. I had a large white chalk pen and had worked out the wording but writing reasonably neatly on 8 sides of A board is not as easy as it sounds. It took me a couple of hours but it’s another thing I can tick off my list for AITG.
The rest of the week followed doing jobs I could tick off my list:
Putting up my posters around the village and Dunstan Steads.
Posting the event on Facebook and Instagram
Cutting and writing some labels
Bringing all the smaller work together from my shelves, boxes and party shed. Checking and re-packing.
Sorting through all my shelves to see what larger work I had. Opening and re-packing.
Arranging my Public Liability Insurance. Printing the certificate and laminating it.
Mounting and cello wrapping some watercolour paintings
Creating some vouchers redeemable at AITG for raffle prizes for next Thursdays quiz.
Arranging a final meeting with Chris, the pub owner to go through the final plans for next week.
Checking through my crate of set up materials such as table cloths, pegs, tape, chord, stands, lights, banners and bunting
Buying a pop up gazebo for extra space
All this stuff takes time. Together with daily chores like dog walking, cooking, buying a house and a car, preparing for a house inspection on Wednesday, the lists go on….There’s still a few things to do but by the end of today (Friday) I will have done about as much preparation as I can until set up next week. It’s sort of out of my hands for now. I’m mentally exhausted and hope it will be worth it…it’s lucky I don’t have a proper job!!
